Farm Notice

 

To all building permit applicants and new residents of Franklin Township:

 

The Franklin Township Board of Supervisors wishes to make you aware of the fact that Franklin Township is a very agricultural and rural district.

 

Depending upon the location of your new construction, property or residence, you may be subjected to any or all of the following:

 

1. Offensive odors from normal agricultural procedures, such as, but not limited to livestock, poultry and orchard spray.

2. Slow moving / oversized farm equipment

3. Noise, such as, but not limited to:

A. Farm and orchard machinery: Orchard farmers frequently spray in the evening and overnight hours due to calmer weather conditions and more effective application of spray materials.

B. Livestock

C. Noise created by firearms being discharged while target shooting or hunting.

4. Dust

5. Flies and other obnoxious insects
